19 year old Jessica Mendoza is an exceptional rider with yet another triumph last weekend!
Jess finished 4th in the King George V Gold Cup with Spirit T back on home turf at the Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead last Sunday (Sunday 2 August). She finished as the top British rider in her first ever King George and was the youngest of the 42 competitors in this major international class.
Jess so narrowly missed outright victory when she had the last down in the fastest time of the day – three tenths of a second quicker than Beezie Madden in what was a back-to-back King George victory for this leading American rider.
Jess said: "Spirit is naturally quick, so I thought I would use it to my advantage. She has been jumping amazingly – I wish I could have another one like her. "I wasn't really that nervous but my dad was more nervous. He kept going on about how this was the most prestigious class and how he would love us to win it."
We wish Jess continued success and are extremely proud that she uses MacWet gloves.
