Following strong performances at the trials at Barbury Castle, six rider and pony combinations have been selected to represent Britain as part of the 2013 Charles Owen British Pony Eventing team. Four members of the squad will form the team with the further two riders competing for Britain as Individuals. The six riders are Charlotte Bacon, Yasmin Ingham, Rose Nesbitt, Chelsea Pearce, Libby Seed and Pumba Goess-Saurau
The team will head out to Arezzo in Italy to contest the 2013 FEI Pony European Championships on the 23-28th July 2013. The team will be using MacWet gloves to give them extra grip so that they can compete at the top of their game.
Sarah Hancox, Chairman of Selectors for the Charles Owen Pony Squad said: "It is fantastic to have such a great mix of experienced combinations as well as new faces on the team this year. We also welcome back two former medal winning ponies to the team with new jockeys on-board."
Of the six riders on the squad, four will represent Britain as a team whilst the remaining two will ride as individuals, the decision of who will be on the team and who will ride individually will be made during the week commencing 22nd July.
